hell_ world
hell_ world is a series of pixel paintings created by Jeffrey Scudder. Each of the works were made using aesthetic.computer, a software-based platform designed and built by the artist. In this collection, each final work emerges from a deliberate series of steps taken by the artist using aesthetic’s library of commands. Pixels, gestures, and code synthesize into paintings with looping playback that exposes the process to collectors.
As a creative coder who believes in building tools for future generations of creators, Scudder not only makes pictures, but invents the source – the code, the tools – and invites everyone to take part in their use. Using text-based commands, anyone can visit the aesthetic.computer and make their own paintings.
Jeffrey Scudder
Contemporary artist and educator who spends his time programming, drawing, and building tools to enable future artists. He’s also the co-founder of Whistlegraph, a performance group popularizing an art style by the same name. One more thing, Jeffrey loves to dance.
